About
I’m Motherblogger: a full-time mother of two little boys, with a full-time job and a full-time nanny and a full-time husband, and a full-time dog. I started motherblogger because there’s a moment in each day when I just can’t believe how totally different the act of real mothering (both the spontaneous declarations of I-love-you-mommy when they are sitting on the toilet and the ‘you-flushed-my-poop’ tantrums that can happen two seconds later) are from my sweet, tidy fantasy of what I thought it would be like to be the person who get presents on mother’s day.
A large part of that expectation gap, is a special category I call “That’s grosser than gross.” Its about the the nuances of living with young children and it’s not for the squeamish. In fact, if you don’t have kids, don’t read it. You don’t need to know this stuff (its probably just one of the reason’s you don’t have children). It’s not about shock value, its about trying in some small blogging way remind me that on those horrible days when it all goes to crap, maybe I’m not alone.
And lastly, I write my posts long after my husband has fallen asleep watching the Colbert Report, so bear with the typos. I will fix them, eventually. And thanks for reading.
