Welcome (band) wagon

A rockstar and his family have moved a few doors down from us. He’s not the kind who fills up Shea stadium, he’s children’s performer but living in Brooklyn in a baby boom, he might as well be. If you’re between 6 months and 9 years old (or a parent of one) chances are you know his body of work and have sung it for hours on long car rides and subsequently had his songs stuck in your head for days.

The kiss

This morning, pre-kblogger slept late and I needed to get to work so after reading Ladybug magazine on the couch with him I pulled myself away and put on the TV. Huge guilt for offering up TV instead of following through on his request for another book, but I had to go.

Pre-kbloggr never wants to go to bed. And why should he? When we come home from work we’re anxious to make up for lost time and fill the last two hours by dancing to Blitzkrieg Bop and play rousing games of tag though our apartment is so small someone always ends up stubbing their toe. When we finally do get up stairs there’s a round or two of hide and seek. He loves to sit on the third shelf of the linen closet with me while I suck in my stomach and practically knock (more…)
